MAEMC has IRAP!

Megan Campbell, D.V.M

IRAP stands for Interleukin-1 Receptor Antagonist Protein.  The purpose of IRAP therapy is to block the destructive Interleukin-1 (IL-1) cytokine, helping stop the cycle of cartilage degradation.  A more natural alternaive to corticosteroids, IRAP avoids the potentially deleterious effects on cartilage that steroids can have.

IRAP therapy is especially beneficial for horses with capsulitis/synovitis, OCD lesions, or mild osteoarthritis.  It involves drawing a small amount of blood from your horse, from which a serum is harvested.  This serum is harvested.  This serum is then re-injected into an affected joint.  Clinical trials of IRAP therapy have been very promising and we are porud to be able to offer IRAP to our clients.  Contact us today for more information.
